Katja Prins Brave New World (Ext.) Katja Prins (Haarlem, NL, 1970) graduated at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in1997 and has been working as an independent jewelry artist ever since. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums all over Europe, Russia, Asia, USA and Canada and is represented in a variety of museum collections. Besides exhibiting she's also been lecturing and teaching internationally. She lives and works in Amsterdam, NL. With her work she wants to tell stories about the body, the body as an instrument, as a machine - instruments/machines as extensions of the body. Our body as an extension of our mind by changing and improving it with our technology. Stories about the intimate relationship between human bodies and mechanic devices, (medical) technology and industry. How do we relate to each other? An interaction which is increasing rapidly these days. www.katjaprins.com
